Delta Airlines plane makes emergency landing at LAX

A Delta Airlines Boeing 777 flying from Sydney, Australia, to Los Angeles with 252 people aboard made a safe emergency landing at LAX this morning after reporting a loss of tire pressure, officials said.

Delta Flight 16 arrived at 6:43 a.m., said LAX spokeswoman Katherine Alvarado.

“The flight crew reported a tire pressure issue with one of the Boeing 777′s 14 tires,” said Delta Airlines spokesman Morgan Durrant. “The aircraft
proceeded to the gate and customers deplaned via the jet bridge.”

Durrant said there were 241 passengers and 11 crew members on the flight. None were hurt.
