A pile of debris ignited next to a single-story home in Palm Desert this afternoon, but nobody was hurt and the blaze did not spread to the residence, a county fire department spokeswoman said.
The fire broke out shortly after 2:30 p.m. next to the 3,000-square-foot residence in the 44700 block of San Juan Avenue.
The flames were contained to the debris pile about 20 minutes later,
Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson said.
