A Temecula resident was traveling southbound on his 2012 Honda Goldwing on Highway 243 at 12:30 p.m. today when he crashed about one mile north of Alandale Forest Service Station in Pine Cove.
According to California Highway Patrol officer David King, Eldon Baum, 55, was attempting to round a corner when his front tire lost traction.
Baum was launched off the highway and about 60 feet down an embankment.
Baum suffered minor injuries complaining of light back pain and a hand laceration.
He was transported by Idyllwild Fire Protection District ground ambulance to an area hospital.
According to initial reports from the scene, speed was not considered a factor.
