The 48th annual parade includes decorated golf carts, floats and marching bands and is considered the largest of its kind.

This year’s theme is “American Pride,” city spokesman David Hermann said.

The day starts at 7:30 a.m. with the annual Palm Desert Rotary Pancake Breakfast in the Bank of America parking lot, followed by a golf cart show at 10 a.m. on El Paseo.

The parade starts at 1 p.m.

“The Palm Desert Golf Cart Parade is a popular favorite that attracts people from across the desert and around the world,” Hermann said.

Free seating will be available along the parade route.

“Main Street Seats” include concierge service with lunch for $25 per seat. A VIP box costs $250. For people 65 and over, free reserved seating with parking at The Gardens on El Paseo between San Pablo Avenue and Larkspur Lane, and free boxed lunches will be available.
