Veterans to be honored with ‘We Remember’ performance on Temecula stage

Being the home of many active and retired military personnel, Temecula has always embraced and honored its valiant veterans.

That tradition will continue with a special performance by the Fine Arts Ballet Theatre of Temecula on Thursday.

“We Remember” — a musical tribute through song and dance honoring our veterans and those currently serving the military – will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 1 at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater.

It’ll be an evening of patriotism and the arts:  a loving tribute to our great country and those who have served and those who continue to do so.

“It’ll have a bit somber beginning to honor the fallen,” said Fine Arts Ballet Theatre Co-founder and Artistic Director Lisa Loree-Kraiger.  “But it’ll be very reverent.  It’ll be very inspirational by the end of the first act.”

Expect a color guard, “Taps” and a 21-gun salute, as well.

“There will be a little singing in the first act too with Sherry Williams performing the song she wrote, also called ‘We Remember,’” confirmed Loree-Kraiger.

The Chaparral High School Marching Band is also scheduled to perform.

There will also be a silent auction that will take place during an extended intermission with proceeds going to both the Wounded Warrior Project and the Tunnels to Towers Foundation.

Loree-Kraiger added:  “We’re going to have an event artist paint two pieces from the first two acts that will then be auctioned live at the end of the performance.”

The goal of this dignified and respectful dance performance is to leave the audience feeling uplifted and proud.

The Fine Arts Ballet Theatre was founded in the summer of 2011 in collaboration with the Fine Arts Network and the Old Town Temecula Community Theater by dancers, for dancers, with and emphasis on providing local professional dancers a performance opportunity that is not conducive to the studio environment.

“We’ve always wanted to do something like this, but never had the opportunity.  Now, with (Fine Arts Ballet Theatre), we do,” said Loree-Kraiger.

Civilian admission for “We Remember” is $22; while all veterans and active duty military get in for free.  Group discounts are also available.

Make sure to wear your uniform or cap to designate which war(s) in which you served.

The Old Town Community Theater is located at 42051 Main Street, Temecula, CA.
