La Quinta: Man assaults car wash employee with pepper spray during robbery

A car wash employee was showered with pepper spray by a suspected robber at a La Quinta car wash just before 7 a.m. today, officials reported.

The suspect entered Desert Express Car Wash in the 43-600 block of Washington Street and began spraying the victim with pepper spray before stealing an undisclosed amount of cash.

After assaulting and robbing the employee, the suspect took off running.

He is described as an adult male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build.

He was last seen wearing a blue hoodie with the hood pulled over his head, black pants and sunglasses or goggles, Sgt. Steve DaSilva stated in a Riverside County Sheriff’s press release.
