A Temecula resident has been arrested on suspicion of vandalizing political signs, officials said.
Leland Barrett Mark, 67, was taken into custody by Temecula police today after a witness reported seeing Mark “pulling down and damaging” signs on Jedediah Smith Rd. and Temecula Parkway, according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department report.

“The witness followed and confronted the suspect who fled on foot after a verbal altercation occurred. The witness was able to photograph the male suspect before he fled the scene,” the report said.
Officers from the Temecula Police Department responded to the scene and later located Mark in the 41000 block of Moreno Road, Temecula.
Mark was arrested and later booked into the Southwest Detention Center.
