Fire damages commercial building in San Jacinto

Investigators were trying today to determine the cause of a blazed that charred an empty commercial building on State Street in San Jacinto.

The non-injury fire was reported about 10:35 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of South State Street and was put out in 16 minutes, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson said.

The fire caused an estimated $40,000 in damage to the 1,600-square-foot building, she said.
