The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire fell under $4 for the first time since Aug. 10 today, dropping 2.7 cents to $3.998.
The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has decreased for 26 consecutive days, falling 69 cents over that span after rising 52.4 cents over the previous six days to a record high of $4.688, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 21.1 cents less than one week ago and 21 cents lower than one month ago but 16 cents higher than one year ago.
