Small quake rattles Inland Empire

Update: Earthquake revised to a magnitude 3.1.

Original Story: A small earthquake shook the Inland Empire today, according to automated USGS sensors.

The 9:03 a.m. quake had a preliminary magnitude of 3.0 and was epicentered in the San Gabriel Mountain foothills, 4 miles north of Upland.

That would be 35 miles east-northeast of Los Angeles City Hall, the USGS reported.

People reported feeling weak shaking in the Pomona Valley and western
Riverside and San Bernardino counties, as well  in the city of Riverside and Corona.

Persons in Victorville and Long Beach also reported noticing it.
