Shallow quake rumbles the Santa Clarita and San Fernando Valleys

A shallow magnitude-3.2 earthquake rattled the Santa Clarita and San Fernando valleys today.

The temblor struck at 3:39 a.m. at a depth of zero miles, its epicenter 4 miles southeast of Newhall, 4 miles north-northwest of San Fernando and 5 miles north-northwest of Pacoima, according to a computer-generated report from the U.S. Geological Survey.
