An armed robber who used his pickup truck to box in a woman’s car in a Palm Desert parking lot was at large today.
The gunman used his truck to block the woman’s car on El Dorado Lane, near East Hovely Lane, as she was getting in it, then got out and grabbed a $20 bill from a cup holder in her car and a cell phone about 3:30 p.m. Friday, Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. David Wright said.
The robber showed a dark-colored revolver in his front left pants pocket, he said.
The truck was last seen headed north on El Dorado, Wright said.
The robber was a stocky, shaved-head Hispanic man, about 20 years old and 5 feet 3 inches, with brown eyes, Wright said. H wore a black T-shirt and dark jeans. The dark-colored truck was an older model with paper license plates.
