A faulty underground cable blacked out 44 residences and businesses in Palm Springs overnight and most of the day, a Southern California Edison spokeswoman said today.
The outage was reported Friday at 10:14 p.m. and happened at the intersection of Yucca and Club Circle drives, said Edison spokeswoman Caroline Aoyagi.
Repairmen were expected to restore power by 3:30 p.m. today, Aoyagi said.

Power outages are one of the most frequent and impactful business hazards. Recent natural disasters have shown that outages can and will disrupt businesses and create major economic losses. Unfortunately, many businesses including hospital have not taken appropriate measures to mitigate this risk. http://tainoconsultinggroup.com/whitepapers/
