San Jacinto: Fire destroys home, firefighter injured

A raging fire engulfed and completely destroyed a residential structure located at State Street, just north of Esplanade in San Jacinto, it was reported.

According a Riverside County Fire Department report, Cal Fire and Riverside County fire crews responded to the blaze that was first reported at 8:44 p.m. on Tuesday evening.

“The structure was completely destroyed, however, due to quick firefighter action, a nearby structure was saved with minimal fire damage and exposure to the exterior,” the report said.

One firefighter was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with injuries characterized as minor to moderate.

The fire was contained at 9:30 p.m., according to fire officials.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
