A 20-year-old man suspected of snatching a gold necklace from the neck of a woman as she was entering a grocery store in San Jacinto was behind bars today.
The suspect, identified as Dayton Thomas of Hemet, approached the victim outside the store in the 1500 block of South San Jacinto Avenue around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, asked if she had any change and then snatched her gold necklace when she told him no, said Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Joey Nardone.
Thomas ran off, but was later found in an adjacent housing tract with the necklace in his possession, Nardone said.
He was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on suspicion of robbery and was being held in lieu of $30,000 bail, according sheriff’s online jail records.

This pig looks like a ruthless animal. Hopefully they keep him locked away for a long while.
I wish these scum bags, once arrested, could be banned from our valley forever.
I bet the crime rate would start to drop.
You know that there is a lot of crime. Be smart and cover up. Act like you are in a big city even though your not. It’s not like it use to be in these areas. Sadly.
