A Murrieta woman who was struck by a 17-year-old driver while she attempted to cross the street died today.

Alaina Cisneros, 26, succumbed to injuries she received in the crash at 4:21 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, according to a Riverside County Coroner’s report.

Cisneros was attempting to cross an intersection around 6: 30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at Jackson Ave. and Robards Way in Murrieta when she was struck.
According to a City News Service report, the teen driver did not see Cisneros.
Cisneros was discovered unconscious and transported to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar.
The driver of the Chevy 2500 truck voluntarily consented to an interview and blood test at the Murrieta Police headquarters.
Alcohol and drugs are not thought to have played a role in the crash, according to Murrieta Police Department Sgt. Jim Gruwell, but an investigation is underway.
