A concerned citizen called police to report two men taking electrical wire from junction boxes on Esplanade and Villines Avenues in San Jacinto just before 6:30 a.m. on Friday Nov. 16, officials confirmed today.
Officers learned that the two men were last seen walking on Esplanade Avenue. Witnesses also reported seeing a white Chevrolet Blazer parked nearby.
The driver of the SUV, 29-year-old San Bernardino resident Melanie Hubert was detained.
A search of the vehicle turned up a large amount of electrical wire, cutting tools, several car stereo amplifiers, African artifacts and identification and credit cards, Sgt. Agcaoili stated in a sheriff’s report.
San Bernardino resident Bryan Henderson, 42, was arrested nearby.
The second male suspect is still at large.
Both Hubert and Henderson were booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility on theft-related charges, Sgt. Agcaoili added.
Anyone with additional information regarding this ongoing investigation is urged to contact Deputy Simmons at the San Jacinto Police Department at 951-654-2702.
