Palm Springs runaway found safe

A 17-year-old Palm Springs girl who went missing earlier this month was found today at a Palm Springs motel, police said.

Someone who had seen media reports about Indigo Betts recognized her and called police, said Sgt. Mike Kovaleff.

The teen’s whereabouts hadn’t been known since Nov. 3, when she left a friend’s home in Desert Hot Springs, he said.

“She confided with her friend that she was planning on running away,” Kovaleff said, adding that the girl had left home in the past.
