Riverside: Motorist flees after crashing into fire hydrant

A car sheared off a fire hydrant today in Riverside and the driver fled, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The hit-and-run crash was reported at 9:43 a.m. at the corner of Prospect Avenue and Citrus Street, CHP dispatchers said.

No one was reported hurt.
