A tractor-trailer struck a tree today and spilled 70 gallons of diesel fuel in Beaumont, a county fire department spokeswoman said.
The crash was reported shortly after 9:30 a.m. at westbound Highway 60 and Western Knolls Avenue.
The driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment of what were described as minor injuries, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson said.
No lane closures were reported, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatcher.
County hazardous materials and environmental health crews went to the scene to clean up the fuel, which was spilled off the road, Hendrickson said.
