Update @ 12:05: Cal Fire officials have postponed the prescribed burn due to weather conditions.
Smoke may be visible over areas in Cuyamaca and Julian today as firefighters and state parks personnel carry out a brush-clearing operation in the Cuyamaca Rancho State Park.
A prescribed burn is scheduled for 60 acres in the park’s Fern Flat area off state Route 79 between Lookout and Pipeline roads from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.,
according to Capt. Mike Mohler of Cal Fire.
Mohler said smoke would be visible in the nearby communities of Julian and Cuyamaca throughout the day.
