Driver rockets up the French Valley Airport runway in Porsche

Law enforcement officials are looking for the owner of a tan Porsche Cayman who rocketed up the French Valley Airport runway and plowed into a field, a CHP spokesman said.

The accident took place just after 11 a.m. on Sunday Nov. 25, CHP spokesman Nathan Baer said.

According to Baer, the driver drove the sports car at speeds over 100 mph and did not stop at the end of the runway, launching off the embankment.

“The Porsche, which is registered out of Temecula, grazed the top of the airport fence and landed in the number one eastbound lane of Auld Road,” Baer explained.

The vehicle ultimately came to rest in a field and fled the scene of the crash.

Authorities contacted the wife of the registered owner who told them she had no knowledge of her husband’s whereabouts.

Investigators searched for the driver but were unable to locate him.

“The registered owner has not contacted the CHP,” Baer said.
