A 32-year-old Riverside man, one of four men suspected in a Jurupa Valley home invasion robbery, was jailed today on $750,000 bail.
Deputies responded just before 12:30 p.m. Friday to the reported robbery in the 11000 block of Gemini Court, where four men forcibly entered the home, detained the victim and stole money and weapons, Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Ralph Rico said.
The suspects fled in a gray Mistubishi Montero, he said.
A description of the vehicle was broadcast, and Riverside police spotted the SUV in the 5000 block of Olivewood Avenue, Rico said.
Richard Casillas was seen leaving a home in the vehicle and was arrested after crashing near Third and Market streets, he said. The Olivewood Avenue home was searched, and some of the items stolen in the home-invasion robber were found ins the Montero, Rico said.
Casillas was booked on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a home invasion robbery and possession of stolen property, he said. He was being held in lieu of $750,000 bail, according to sheriff’s online booking records.
The investigation was ongoing, and anyone with more information about the case was urged to call detectives at (951) 955-2600.
