Partially buried human remains were found on Friday, Nov. 30 in the 45000 block of Highway 79 South near Aguanga, it was reported.
A hunter found the remains about two miles southeast of the roadway, according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department report.
The remains were determined to be human by deputies and investigators from the Southwest Station.
“Investigators from the Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation with assistance from the Coroner’s Office,” Sgt. Tyson Voss reported.
The identity and cause of death of the deceased is not known at this time.
An autopsy is pending.
