The Long Valley Red from Bel Vino Winery is already a hit among Wine Club members and now the new varietal is available for purchase by the general public.
This is the first wine to be sold under the Bel Vino label and is the creation of owner Mike Janko and renowned winemaker George Bursick.
“It’s been over one year since we took over Stuart Cellars and the anticipation of unveiling our own varietals is, at times, overwhelming. But the release of the Long Valley Red is a great introduction of many exciting things to come. George Bursick is one of the most well-known winemakers in California. Watching his process of winemaking is both educational and marvelous,” Janko said in a released statement.
The Long Valley Red is a Bordeaux-style blend.
Hand crafted at Bel Vino Winery, it was aged in French oak barrels for 22 months, is deep and bold in color and retains flavors and aromas of blackberry, black currant and plum with hints of black olive and anise.
The blend consists of 45 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 30 percent Merlot, 19 percent Cabernet Franc, 5 percent Malbec and 1 percent Petit Verdot.
Long Valley Red retails for $59.95 and can be purchased online.
Next on the agenda for Bel Vino is the release of its Tatria wine, a Bordeaux style blend. Similar to the Long Valley Red, the Tatria is slated for release early March 2013 and will retail at $59.95.
