Help your local ‘habitat’ this holiday season with cars, cards and a little caring

As the end of the year approaches, we are often asked how families, individuals and businesses can help support Habitat for Humanity through the holidays and beyond. It warms my heart to see so many wanting to give of their time and money to help us fulfill our mission to improve the living conditions in the Inland Valley region.

There are many ways to help Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley, some of which you may not even know. You may also be unaware that we have created several programs that give back to you when you give to Habitat for Humanity.

  • Purchase a Scrip gift card from one of the ReStores in Temecula or Lake Elsinore. Scrip gift cards can be used at hundreds of major retailers, restaurants and entertainment destinations. Because we have purchased the cards ahead of time and negotiated discounted prices, you won’t have to pay any extra activation fees and we get a portion of the purchase as a donation.
  • Visit Christmas Tree Lane in the lower level Macy’s Woman’s wing at Promenade Temecula. There you will find over a dozen professionally decorated trees. Win one of the trees by entering our drawing with a suggested donation of $1. The drawing will take place on December 17.
  • Volunteer at one of our ReStore locations. If you have a little extra time this holiday season, consider helping us at one our home improvement discount stores and donations center. Volunteers are always welcome and positions vary from cashiers, drivers and cleaners.
  • Donate your vehicle to our Cars for Homes program. With the end of the year almost here, making a vehicle donation could give your taxes the bump they need for a better return.
