Emergency personnel were called out to the 5500 block of Ridgeview at 4:25 p.m. Dec. 6 after witnesses reported a man lying on the shoulder of the road. Witnesses told police they heard a loud “pop” then saw a man fall from the a power pole, according to a Sheriff’s news release.
Emergency crews found an adult man with third-degree burns covering a third of his body. He was airlifted to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and is listed in critical condition.
Southern California Edison crews turned power off to the power line, leaving nearby residents without power. Southern California Edison said the damage found to the power line is “indicative” of someone climbing up the power pole and touching the conductor, deputies said.

Lots of children were affected by witnessing this incident. Children were outside on playground during an after school program and witnessed the transformer explode and the man fall. Children were rushed inside and a helicopter arrived shortly after and landed in the playground to air lift the man out.
My question is who was he and what exactly was he doing up there? There’s no mention of him being a So Cal Edison employee at all. :/
