Los Angeles: ‘Ear Gauge Stalker’ on the loose

Police today released a composite sketch of the so-called Ear Gauge Stalker, a man wanted for assaulting two women at a Sylmar apartment complex.

(Los Angeles County Sheriff)

The man, who wears circular items in both ear lobes, attacked the women early on Sunday Dec. 9 at the building, said Los Angeles police Lt. Paul Vernon.

The location was not disclosed.

He is described as black, in his mid-20s, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 160 pounds, and wore a hoodie or a baseball cap, Vernon said.

At about 2:40 a.m. that day, the man accosted a woman in her 30s who was pushing a baby in a stroller, Vernon said.

“He started with small talk, then reached under her dress and groped her,” Vernon said.

About an hour later, the man assaulted another woman, who was walking to her apartment.

“He grabbed her and dragged her into a secluded area, trying to disrobe her, before two people confronted him and scared him off,” Vernon said.

Authorities distributed crime alerts to nearby Sylmar High School and Los Angeles Mission College.

Anyone knowing more about the case is urged to call 818-838-9975 or 800- 222-TIPS.

That should be “Stretched Ears Stalker” not “Ear Gauge Stalker” since “gauge” is a unit of measurement – not the act of stretching or the name of the jewelry worn, contrary to ignorant belief – and the title given to him makes no sense.
