A Menifee man’s alleged sexual assault of a girl came to light when the child’s father found the suspect in his daughter’s bed, sheriff’s officials reported today.
Jason Wayne Freeman — who turned 39 today — was arrested Wednesday and booked into the Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of lewd acts on a child under 14, forced sexual penetration and burglary.
He posted a $55,000 bond and was released hours later.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, a homeowner in the area of Hunter Ridge and Pine Creek drives went to check on his daughter around 2 a.m. and allegedly discovered Freeman in bed with the girl, performing sex acts.
The suspect, who knows the family, leaped out a bedroom window and fled, sheriff’s officials said.
He was located at his residence in the 29000 block of Singing Wood Lane an hour later and arrested without incident, according to the sheriff’s department.
