Fire destroyed an abandoned two-story home today in Thermal, but no injuries were reported, a spokeswoman said.
Dispatchers received a call at 8:05 a.m. about the blaze, which also charred a number of palm trees.
The 2,000-square foot home was located near Harrison and Middleton streets, Riverside County Fire spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson said.
Firefighters were expected to remain at the scene for up to four hours for clean-up. Harrison Street was to remain closed for the duration of the incident, Hendrickson said.
The cause was under investigation, Hendrickson said.
