To be accepted, the original artwork must be created in a 2-D medium of oils, watercolor, pastels, mixed media, acrylic, photography and/or colored pencil. No reproductions or mechanical manipulations will be accepted.

Participants must be 18 years of age or older.

Artists should keep in mind when designing their work that this year is 30th anniversary of the event and the festival’s theme is “Let the Good Times Roll.”

“We recommend you stop by the office to see previous winners,” said Executive Director Carol Popejoy in a released statement. “Also if the artist does not use canvas for their painting, we recommend discussing with us the best material to use for accurate reproduction.”

Subject matter should include the key components of the festival — hot air balloons, wine tasting and vineyards, food and a festive environment.

All entries must be 18 x 24 inches in size. They do not need to be framed but should be ready for viewing with a support heavy enough to hold the artwork upright in a professional manner, the release said.

The deadline is at 3 p.m. on Feb. 1.
