Inland Empire gas prices continue to climb

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire rose Tuesday for the seventh time in eight days, increasing three-tenths of a cent to $3.588.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties is 4.2 cents more than one week ago, but 14.1 cents less than one month ago and 3.4 cents lower than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price had dropped 71 times in 77 days, falling to its lowest amount since Dec. 27, 2011, before the current stretch of increases began.
