A suspected drunk driver has been arrested after slamming into a fence in Coachella, officials reported.

Deputies responded just before 8:30 p.m. on Monday Jan. 7 near Avenue 52 and Jackson Street in the unincorporated area of Coachella.
Jorge Garcia, 20, of Coachella was reportedly driving on Avenue 52 when he veered off the road and smashed into a fence. Garcia was arrested for suspicion of driving while impaired with alcohol or drugs, Sgt. Frederick stated in a Riverside County Sheriff’s press release.
