A Moreno Valley man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of a stolen vehicle, it was reported today.
Ronald Woods, 35, and a juvenile were identified as suspects after officers assigned to the Moreno Valley Police Department responded to a burglary in progress on Monday, Jan. 7 to Healing Streams Church, located at 15820 Emma Lane.
According to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department report, witnesses told officers that the suspects had arrived in a green Honda and had been observed burglarizing the church, but had fled on foot from the scene.
“A records check of the vehicle verified it had been reported stolen out of Moreno Valley a few days prior. Additional officers arrived and three suspects were detained in the area of Perris Blvd. and Iris Avenue,” said Sgt. Walter Mendez in the report.
Woods and the juvenile were arrested without incident. A third subject was questioned and released.
Woods was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center for burglary, possession of burglary tools, conspiracy, vehicle theft, violation of probation and child endangerment.
The 16-year-old was booked into Juvenile Hall for burglary and possession of stolen property.
Investigators recovered approximately $3,800 worth of stolen property, officials said.
The Moreno Valley Police Department is asking anyone with additional information about this case to contact Deputy Leon with the Burglary Suppression Team at 951-486-6847.
