Home catches fire in Thousand Palms, no injuries reported

A fire damaged an unoccupied home in Thousand Palms early this morning, a county fire department spokeswoman said.

The fire was reported about 12:40 a.m. in the 2900 block of La Canada Way, and firefighters reported seeing smoke coming from the attic, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson said.

The fire was contained shortly after 1 a.m., she said, and no injuries were reported.
