Fire guts two commercial buildings in San Jacinto

Authorities today are investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed two commercial buildings in San Jacinto.

The fire was first reported at 9:49 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan.9  in the 1100 block of South State Street, according to Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson.

A total of 27 firefighters and seven engines responded to the scene that gutted the structures for a “total loss.”

No injuries were reported.

The two buildings were each about 5,000-6,000 square feet in size, Hendrickson said.
