Riverside: Intruder rattles women in senior living complex

Riverside police have stepped up efforts to find a suspect after a women living in a senior living community told police that she found an intruder in her apartment today who fled when she began to call them.

Police were called to the 8500 block of Magnolia Avenue at about 9:10 a.m.

Witnesses at the location provided a description of the suspect, which was broadcast to other officers. The suspect was not found.

Detectives summoned sexual assault investigators as well as a forensic technician to collect evidence he left behind.

Detectives believe the case may be connected to two incidents last week near La Sierra Highway and the Riverside (91) Freeway.

The suspect was described as a black man between 30 and 50, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with short dark hair and unshaven. He was wearing dark baggy pants and was described as being unkempt.
