A violent car crash in Perris sent one person to the hospital with severe injuries, fire department officials reported.
According to reports, a yellow Subaru sedan slammed into a wall narrowly missing a house just after 10:30 p.m. on Thursday Jan. 10 near Perris Boulevard and Peppertree Drive.
SWRNN reporter Joe Fanaselle said there was significant damage to the yard including a fence.
Chunks of concrete and pieces of the mangled vehicle were strewn about the lanes on Perris Boulevard.
Firefighters had to use the jaws of life to extricate the injured driver from the wreckage.
“The driver was transported to an area hospital via ground ambulance with moderate injuries,” Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson said
Vehicles slowed to observe the scene as they passed by, but traffic was relatively unaffected in the area.
