A 15-year-old runaway is in custody after allegedly burglarizing a home in Lake Elsinore, it was reported today.
A resident discovered the juvenile upon returning home at about 3:37 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11 in the 31600 block of Saddle Ridge Drive.
According to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department report, the suspect fled the scene over a back fence when he was discovered and the homeowner called police.

“Officers responded to the area and a perimeter was established with a police K-9 and air support also responding to the location. The suspect was seen in the hills behind Saddle Ridge Drive, a foot pursuit ensued, and the suspect was eventually taken into custody,” said Sgt. David Cardoza.
Authorities found that the teen was in possession of stolen property from the Saddle Ridge address, in addition to items stolen from another home in the 31600 block of Boulder Vista Drive, officials said.
The boy, who was not identified, had been reported as a runaway since Dec. 25, 2012.
The suspect was arrested for two counts of burglary and was subsequently transported to the Riverside County Juvenile Hall in Temecula.
The property stolen in the burglaries were returned to the respective homeowners.
