Firefighters douse blaze in Menifee garage

A fire damaged the garage of a Menifee residence today, but no one was hurt.

Firefighters dispatched about 1:05 p.m. to the 29500 block of Painted Desert Drive saw light smoke coming from the two-story residence upon arrival, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson said.

Firefighters quickly contained the blaze to the garage about 10 minutes later, Hendrickson said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
