A 48-year-old Riverside woman was the victim of a fatal traffic collision yesterday in Jurupa Valley, it was reported.

Ana Cortes was seat-belted in her sedan when she was struck by a pickup truck, according to a Riverside County Coroner’s report.
The incident occurred around 10:24 a.m. on Jan. 16 at the intersection of Limonite Avenue and Peralta Place, according to sheriff’s officials.
The driver of the pickup truck failed to stop at a red light from his place at the intersection, and subsequently collided with Cortes’ sedan as it was traveling southbound, said Sgt. James Woodland.
Both individuals were taken to Riverside Community Hospital where Cortes succumbed to her injuries, according to the coroner’s report.
