A car plowed into a tree today in Cabazon, trapping one critically-injured person and two other people inside, a spokeswoman said.
Firefighters used a hydraulic tool to pry open the damaged car, which crashed in the 14200 block of Magnolia Street.
Someone called for help at 6:06 a.m., Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann said.
All three people inside the car were taken to area hospitals.
One person was critically hurt, two other people suffered what Hagemann said were moderate injuries.
CHP officers were investigating the crash, and no information to release today.
