Tinker Bell Half Marathon set for Sunday in Anaheim

A capacity field of more than 14,000 has entered Sunday’s second annual Tinker Bell Half Marathon, which will take runners through Disneyland, Disney California Adventure and the streets of Anaheim.

The race sold out in 29 days. The field of 14,093 ranging in age from 14 to 77 consists of 12,459 females, 1,634 males and runners from all 50 states and 14 nations, according to Bob Hitchcock of Disney Sports.

Street closures will begin at midnight with Disneyland Drive, which will be closed between Katella Avenue and Magic Way until 10 a.m., according to Ruth Ruiz of the city of Anaheim.

The portion of Disneyland Drive between Magic Way and Ball Road will be closed between 4:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., although there will be access to Mickey and Friends parking.

Harbor Boulevard will be closed between 4:30 a.m. and 9 a.m., with the Harbor Boulevard off-ramp from the northbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway closed between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. and the off-ramp from the southbound portion of the freeway closed between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m.

The following street closures will be in effect between 4:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.:

– Ball Road between Disneyland Drive and Harbor Boulevard; and

– Walnut Street between Magic Way and Manchester Avenue.

The following street closures will be in effect between 4:30 a.m. and 8 a.m.:

– Broadway between Manchester Avenue and Anaheim Boulevard;

– Harbor Boulevard between Broadway and Center Street;

– Center Street between Harbor Boulevard and Anaheim Boulevard; and

– Harbor Boulevard between Broadway and Ball Road.

The following street closure will be in effect between 4:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.:

– Ball Road between Harbor Boulevard and Anaheim Boulevard.

The following street closure will be in effect between 4:30 a.m. and 9 a.m.:

– Anaheim Boulevard between Ball Road and Disney Way.
