A predawn fire charred half of a two-story Jurupa Valley home today and displaced five people, a spokeswoman said.
Two family dogs were killed during the blaze, which hit the home in the 7600 block of Live Oak Drive.
Someone called dispatchers at 4:29 a.m., Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann said.
A cause behind the early morning blaze was not disclosed, but Hagemann said firefighters managed to contain the flames more than 30 minutes after it was reported.
Firefighters had the fire under control by 9:30 a.m.
No injuries were reported, Hagemann said.
