Riverside: Alleged gang member jailed on rape charges

Suspected gang members from Riverside are behind bars, one for allegedly raping a woman in Moreno Valley, officials confirmed today.

Officers received information just before noon on Friday Jan. 18 that a sexual assault took place at a residence in the 24900 of Hemlock Avenue in Moreno Valley.

Randy Sanchez, 40, was determined to be the perpetrator of the crime and detectives learned he was in the Casa Blanca area of Riverside, Sgt. Holmes stated in a Riverside County Sheriff’s press release.

During a surveillance operation, officers observed Sanchez getting into a parked car in the 7400 block of Ysmael Villegas in Riverside. He was immediately detained and arrested.

A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded semi-automatic handgun.

Alleged gang members Paul Zomora Jr. and Edward Sosa were also arrested on probation violation, gun and drug charges.

All three men were booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center, Sgt. Holmes added.

  • This is why gun control will not work. Unless it is Obama’s goal is to leave the average American defenseless. The legal owners rarely kill, but we know for sure gang bangers do.
