Abandoned house scorched by blaze in Mecca

A blaze broke out at an abandoned residence in Mecca this afternoon, but there were no immediate reports of injuries, a county fire department spokeswoman said.

The fire was reported about 2:50 p.m. in the 70700 block of Miramar Drive, near Dolphin Drive, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson said.

There was no immediate word on the cause.
