San Jacinto: Woman sexually assaulted, suspect on the loose

Authorities are on the hunt for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman as she walked at about 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22 in the 400 block of Shaver Street in San Jacinto.

According to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department report, a man approached the woman and assaulted her from behind.

“The victim responded by striking the suspect and the suspect fled the location on foot,” Sgt. David Haar said in the report.

Police described the suspect as an Hispanic man between the age of 18 and 21 years old and approximately 5-foot-4 with a thin build.

“The suspect was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with silver sleeves, a red baseball cap, blue jeans and black tennis shoes,” Sgt. Haar said.

The investigation is ongoing.
