Motorist rescued after car plunges off Mulholland Drive

Firefighters today rescued a motorist whose vehicle went down an embankment from Mulholland Drive in the Sherman Oaks area.

The accident was reported about 9:40 a.m. in the 12000 block of Mulholland Drive, about a quarter-mile west of Skyline Drive, said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Los Angeles Firefighters have their hands full today.

The woman was brought to safety by fire department ground crews and was taken to a hospital for examination, Scott said.
