Firefighters attack blaze in Palm Desert house fire

Firefighters quickly doused a blaze in the garage of a residence in Palm Desert today.

The non-injury fire was reported shortly after 2 p.m. in the 40600 block of Via Fonda.

Arriving crews reported light smoke coming from the garage, and contained the fire there about 25 minutes later, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
