Alcohol is thought to be a factor in a rollover crash that injured several people in Lake Elsinore, officials confirmed today.
Officers arrived just after 12:30 a.m. today in the 200 block of Chaney Street and found a smashed-up car with five people inside.
Initial investigations revealed the car, driven by 18-year-old Eduardo Barba, of Lake Elsinore was speeding southbound on Chaney Street when he lost control and rolled the car.
The car also struck a retaining wall, Sgt. Chavez stated in a sheriff’s press release.
All of the occupants were transported to nearby hospitals, including a 17-year-old girl who suffered significant injuries.
According to officers, Barba showed symptoms of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Barba is expected to be charged with driving under the influence and causing injury once he is released from the hospital.
Anyone with additional details regarding this crash is urged to contact Deputy Chavez at 951-245-3300.
